KSP Arrests Marshall County Man on Child Abuse Charges

Benton, KY. (October 14, 2016) On October 13, 2016, Kentucky State Police were
contacted by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services after a six week-old infant
from Marshall County was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY for serious
physical injuries.

Upon investigation, detectives with the Kentucky State Police determined the
injuries were caused by physical abuse.

The father of the child, Johnny R. Arnold lll, 19, of Benton, KY was arrested and
charged with Criminal Abuse 1st Degree, Victim Under 12 (Class C Felony).  Arnold
was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

The child was flown to Kosair's Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY for further
treatment.
