Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrest four following shooting

On 7-6-2021 just before midnight, Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a call of a male subject that had been shot. Upon arrival Deputies encountered several subjects outside of the residence and began to clear the area attempting to locate the victim and alleged suspect involved in the shooting. The victim who reported to have been shot was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was later treated and released with minor injuries.

As a result of this investigation, it was determined that a shooting did occur at the residence. Deputies were able to locate a firearm and the alleged shooter who was taken into custody. In addition to the original call, three other adults were arrested on several outstanding warrants and drug charges that stemmed from over 1 pound of crystal methamphetamine being located. The methamphetamine located had a street value of approximately 50,000 dollars.
-Joshua Adams of Benton was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st, (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Possession of Marijuana
-Amber Amaro of Hardin was charged Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia. Amaro was also charged on an outstanding warrant from Calloway County.
-Jocelyn McCurdy of Murray was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Marijuana and Promoting Contraband. McCurdy was also charged on an outstanding warrant from Calloway County.
-Charles Morgan of Calvert City was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia.
All four of the above named subjects were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court of Law. Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by West Marshall Fire Department, Marshall County EMS and the Benton Police Department.
