Deputies from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were called to an altercation on Mayfield-Metropolis Road, Thursday morning. Reports indicated that shots had been fired, and there were people screaming as vehicle left the scene.
Following an investigation, deputies believe that 18-year-old Andrew N. Moreland got into an argument with his younger brother. The incident escalated when Moreland allegedly went to his vehicle and got a 12 gauge shotgun, which he reportedly fired into the air, and in the direction of the brother.
There were no injuries.
Moreland left the scene, but returned while deputies were at the residence and surrendered the shotgun. He was charged with wanton endangerment, and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
