On December 7th at approximately 10:44pm, Sergeant Jason Lane was dispatched to an injury crash on Benton Briensburg Road. A vehicle had run off of the road in a curve and struck another vehicle and some other property. The driver, identified as Lora M. Wood age 41 of Benton, was injured and transported to Marshall County Hospital for her injuries. The investigation revealed that Wood had been drinking and takes prescription medications. Wood was charged with DUI and Driving on DUI Suspended License. Wood was cited to appear in Marshall District Court. She was not arrested due to being under care at the hospital. Sergeant Lane was assisted by Deputy Dennis Lewis.
