Subject: Traffic Stop with Drug Arrest
On July 25, 2022 at approximately 2:40 P.M, Graves County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Jones was in the area of Douthitt and Brand Streets in Mayfield, and stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions.
Dep. Jones initiated a traffic stop on Commonwealth Dr. and made contact with 35 y/o Gregory Morris. Morris was found to be operating the vehicle on a DUI Suspended operator’s license. Upon contact with Morris, Dep. Jones detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Morris was asked to exit the vehicle and in doing so, Morris was observed attempting to conceal something near the passenger seat of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, a small quantity of marijuana, and items of drug paraphernalia. Gregory Morris was arrested and transported to an out of county jail.

Trafficking in controlled substance, Methamphetamine 2nd Offense
Possession of Marijuana
DUI 3rd Offense
Operating on a DUI Suspended License 3rd Offense
Drug Paraphernalia and other traffic violations.
