Assault Investigation leads to Stolen Vehicle Charges

On January 28^th, 2023, at approximately 11:50 AM, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on North Friendship Road for a report of an assault that had just occurred.

During the investigation, it was determined Ryan Melton, 27, of Paducah had assaulted a victim at this location, and had fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival.

While still on scene, it was learned Melton was driving back to the scene in a white minivan.  Deputies were able to conduct a traffic stop on Melton as he was pulling back into the drive of the residence.  Melton was found to not have a valid operator’s license.

Further investigation revealed the 2014 Honda Minivan Melton was operating had been stolen earlier in the morning from an address on Pullen Lane in Paducah.

Melton was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Jail, where he was lodged on the following charges:

Assault 4^th Dating Violence (Minor Injury)

No Operator’s License
