On March 5th at 5:17pm Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a vehicle being operated on Egner’s Ferry Road. He observed the vehicle weaving and crossing lines. The vehicle pulled into the Dollar General Store in Fairdealing and the Deputy made contact with the driver. As a result of the ensuing investigation, Deputy Greenfield charged Ricky W. Henson age 50 of Benton with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 4th or Subsequent Offense. Driving on DUi Suspended License. Henson was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On March 4th at approximately 10:30am, Deputy Greenfield was dispatched to Gilbertsville Highway in reference to a disturbance. It was reported that one of the individuals had left. Deputy Greenfield found the subject at 5th and Oak Park Blvd in Calvert City. Deputy Greenfield arrested Gary Stamper age 37 of Benton and charged him with Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance
On March 5th, Deputy Luke Rudd investigated vandalism to multiple mailboxes in the area of Tom Prather Church Road. Jonathan Gray, Bobby Prather, and Richard Burcks reported their mailboxes damaged Anyone with information, please contact Deputy Rudd at the Sheriff’s Office
On March 4th at approximately 8:57pm , Deputy Josh Anderson responded to a disturbance on Dr. Smith Lane near Calvert City. As a result of the investigation conducted there, Douglas W. Irvan age 48 of Calvert City was arrested and charged with Assault 4th Degree. Irvan was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On March 4th at approximately 2:44pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a vehicle on Gilbertsville Highway crossing both the centerline and fog line. Deputy Greenfield stopped the vehicle and after an investigation, arrested the driver. Melissa Scheuler age 40 of Metropolis, Illinois was charged with the following:
Operating Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 – 1st Offense
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Poss
Drug Paraphernalia – Deliver / Man
On March 3rd at approximately 4:15pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was traveling south on Howards Grove Road and met a vehicle which was in his lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated on US 62 and as a result of the investigation, Robert R. Cooper age 41 of Calvert City was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 – 2nd Offense and Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle. Cooper was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On Thursday March 2nd Deputy Dennis Lewis received a call in reference to a possible impaired driver on US 68 E near Aurora. The caller stated that the vehicle nearly hit another vehicle head on and then a second call came in that the vehicle was at Bait-N-More and while leaving the parking lot he backed into a sign. Upon arrival, Deputy Lewis observed the vehicle on Smethers Ln and upon activation of emergency lights the vehicle ran off the roadway coming to rest in his own driveway. Deputy Lewis noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the subject. The field sobriety test was conducted and many indicators were present for being under the influence. Brian J. Oles 59, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 4th or > and Driving on DUI Suspended License. Oles was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
