MANCHESTER, Ky. (June 05, 2024) –On April 20, 2024, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11-London received a call of a possible child criminal abuse incident involving a 3-month-old juvenile.

The preliminary investigation revealed the young child was brought to Saint Joseph-London Hospital on the morning of Saturday, April 20, 2024. The child was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she currently remains in critical condition.

As a result of the investigation, the Clay County Grand Jury returned an indictment on the mother, 23-year-old Brianna Morgan Burkhart of London. Burkhart is charged with three (3) counts of Assault 1^st Degree and one (1) count of Criminal Abuse 1^st Degree-Child 12 or under.
