Lyon County Police Reports

  • On Monday, July 1, 2024, around 9:16am, Sheriff Brent White arrested Mika R. Kitrel (35), address unknown, with a Lyon Circuit Court indictment warrant charging her with the following offenses as returned by the Lyon County Grand Jury:
    • Criminal Trespass-3rd Degree (by complicity)
    • Receiving Stolen Property-Auto ($10,000 or more by complicity)
    • Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
    • Possession of Controlled Substance-3rd Degree (drug unspecified)
    • Possession of Marijuana
    • Drug Paraphernalia-Possession
    • Theft of Identity of Another Person without Consent

Kitrel was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

 

 

  • On Monday, July 1, 2024, around 5:30pm, Deputy Josh Travis responded to a two-vehicle collision on US 62 West at Days Inn Drive in Kuttawa. His investigation revealed a 1997 Peterbilt driven by Jacob B. Brown (36) of Center Point, IN was East bound on US 62 when the stoplight changed to red; and a 2014 Chevrolet, driven by Macey R. Parrish (23) of Clay, which was in front of the Brown vehicle, was stopped in traffic for the stoplight. Brown’s semi collided with the rear of the Parrish vehicle. No injuries were reported in the collision.

 

  • On Monday, July 1, 2024, around 5:49pm, Deputy David Carroll responded to a disturbance complaint at the Kuttawa Recreation Area near the beach in Old Kuttawa. Lyon County EMS also responded to attend to the injuries of a juvenile assault victim. Deputy Carroll’s investigation led to a 16-year-old male from Benton being charged with Assault-4th Degree after he engaged in a physical altercation with a Lyon County juvenile who was also at the park. The juvenile victim declined EMS transport but was taken to an area hospital, by a parent, for multiple fractures to the facial area. The investigation is continuing and an upgrade of the charges is possible.

 

  • On Monday, July 1, 2024, around 8:05pm, Deputy David Carroll responded to Kuttawa at US 62 and Days Inn Drive for a three-vehicle injury collision. His investigation revealed a 2011 Dodge Ram driven by Steve A. Meredith (61) of Kuttawa East bound on US 62 attempting to turn left onto Days Inn Drive when he failed to yield the right-of-way with a yellow flashing turn indicator, to a 2013 Toyota, driven by Shawn L. Murdock (57) of Walton which was West bound on US 62. The Meredith vehicle turned in front of the Murdock vehicle resulting in a collision which caused the Meredith vehicle to rotate and collide a second time with a 2016 Hyundai, driven by Kenisha L. Redd (36) of Kuttawa, which was stopped at the stoplight on Days Inn Drive. A passenger in the Murdock vehicle complained of minor injuries but refused EMS transport at the scene.
