Romanian Man, Here Illegally, Arrested During Traffic Stop

On May 14, 2025, a McCracken County Sheriff’s Office deputy was enforcing the reduced speed limit on I24 within the construction zone. The deputy observed a vehicle traveling thirty miles over the speed limit and witnessed the operator driving the vehicle in an aggressive manner, changing lanes quickly and following other vehicles extremely close.

The operator of the vehicle gave the deputy a passport and an operator’s license from another country but was unable to show that he had insurance for the vehicle. Upon reviewing the documents provided by the operator of the vehicle, the deputy became suspicious that they were forged. The operator was ultimately arrested for multiple traffic violations was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

In further investigation in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, deputies verified that the passport and operator’s license were fake. Homeland Security determined that the real identify of the operator was Bogdan Drapac. Department of Homeland Security personnel were able to determine that Drapac is in the United States illegally, has a warrant for his arrest in Romania, and is also wanted in California and Texas for fraudulent credit card investigations.

Bogdan Drapac, 41 years old of Sacramento, California, was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Drapac was charged with several traffic offenses including reckless driving, no operator’s license, and failure to produce to insurance card. He was additionally charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree and giving an officer false identifying information. Homeland Security also placed an immigration detainer on Drapac.
