A Benton man is facing rape and incest charges, after police say a victim came forward.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Det. Jeff Daniel said a victim confessed an incident of alleged sexual abuse that occurred more than a year ago to her mother, who then reported the allegations to police last week.
Jackie Lee McKnight, 54, of Benton, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. May 16 and charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, incest – forced compulsion / incapable of consent with victim under 18 as a result of preliminary investigation, according to MCSD reports. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
