On Monday June 13th Deputy Chris Greenfield received a complaint on a driver that was driving erratically on the Purchase Parkway, It was reported that a vehicle had struck a stop sign and another road sign when he got onto US 68 from the Purchase Parkway. The witness followed the subject and observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through several red lights. The vehicle then pulled into the Briensburg Church of Christ parking lot around the back of the church at a high rate of speed. The church was having bible school and the parking lot was full causing the subject to strike a parked vehicle. As Deputy Greenfield made contact with the subject he observed the vehicle to have some significant damage to the body and windshield. Deputy Greenfield asked the subject what had happened and he stated that he had struck the rear end of a semi truck on the ramp to Draffenville and struck a stop sign and another road sign. The subject stated that he had taken medication prior to driving. The subject was given the field sobriety test in which there were many indications of being under the influence. Inside the vehicle deputies located a bag of marijuana containing approximately 5.3 grams, a small bag of 10 carisoprodol (generic for SOMA), a blank orange prescription bottle containing 4 carisoprodol and some electronic scales. Robert T. Mack 22, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Inluence, Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
