Marshall County Sheriff’s Report February 5, 2018

On February 4th, assisted by information from Sheriff Sam Steger of Calloway County, Deputy William Strader and Deputy Barry Howell arrested Chad J. Smith of Murray. Smith was wanted on two warrants from Calloway County. Smith was also found to be wanted out of state. Deputy Strader is continuing to investigate that.

On February 1st, Deputy Chris Greenfield , Deputy Cory Curtner , and Deputy Steven Oakley were dispatched to Retirement Circle near Calvert City in reference to a disturbance. Deputy Greenfield located the person creating the disturbance on Calvert City Road. Claude Johnson age 20 address unknown was arrested and charged with the following:

Menacing
Terrorristic Threatening 3rd Degree
Resisting Arrest
Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree

Johnson continually threatened to kill the Deputies and families.

On February 5th at 3:00am Sergeant Tim Reynolds and other Deputies responded to Boone Hill Road in reference to an intoxicated person. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with Joshua L. Robinson of Benton who appeared to be very intoxicated and walking around. Robinson was charged with Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance ( Excludes Alcohol ) and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On February 4th, Deputy Chris Greenfield conducted a traffic stop on US 68 East. As a result of the investigation, Jacob Don Nelson of Gilbertsville was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 Aggravating Circumstances 2nd Offense

On February 3rd, Deputy Chris Greenfield conducted a traffic stop on Gilbertsville Highway. As a result of the investigation, a passenger in the vehicle, Tammy Lynn Holmes of Benton was arrested and charged with the following:

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense – Opiates
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense – Methamphetamines
Drug Paraphernalia- Buy / Possess
Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
Prescription / Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense
Giving Officer False Identifying Information

Holmes was also served a Parole Violation Warrant

On February 2nd at 9:42pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield conducted a traffic stop on Gilbertsville Highway. As a result of the investigation, Hunter Snelling of Gilbertsville was charged with the following:

Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Ins.
License to be in Possession
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

Snelling is due to appear in Marshall District Court later this month.

On February 2, Deputy Chris Greenfield served a Failure to Appear warrant on Tommy Prather of Hardin.
