On August 22nd, Deputy Steven Oakley served a warrant on Hernandez A. Maurico of Benton. The warrant was for Alcohol Intoxication, Assault 2nd Degree, and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
On August 22nd, Sergeant William Treadway of the Benton Police Department opened a theft of a motor vehicle investigation involving a truck. On August 23rd, Captain Matt Hilbrecht of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Sergeant Treadway responded to a residence on Wadesboro Road North. They recovered the stolen truck and SGT. Treadway charged Robert K Lima of Benton with Theft By Unlawful Taking or Dispensation Auto – $10,000 or More. Subsequently, Captain Hilbrecht served a Calloway County Complaint Warrant on Lima charging him with Receiving Stolen Property.Lima was also served a warrant for Flagrant Non Support.
On August 23rd, Detective Sergeant Jeff Daniel served a Calloway County Bench Warrant on Bryan J. Fulton of Benton.
On August 23rd at approximately 3:00pm, Deputy Steven Oakley responded to Lawrence Road in reference to a burglary in progress. It was reported that a man came home and found someone standing in his home with a flashlight. The suspect left the home and ran. Deputy Oakley located the suspect a short distance away and placed him under arrest. Martues J. Holbrook of Benton was charged with the following: Alcohol Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Possess, Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Legend Drug 1st Offense, Served Warrant Marshall County – Failure To Appear, Served a Second Warrant Marshall County – Failure to Appear.
On August 23rd, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to US 68 West to a vehicle crash. As a result of the investigation, Mark Allan Lutz of Murray was cited and charged with No Operators License, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense, No Registration Receipt, and Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
On August 24th, Deputy Lofton Rowley served a complaint warrant on Andrew Wolf Nimmo of Hardin. The charges were Assault 4th Degree and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. The warrant was issued as as the result of a Kentucky State Police case.
On August 24th, Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a vehicle being driven through a grassy area onto US 641 and then drive away at high speed. Deputy Greenfield conducted a traffic stop and as a result, the driver Lrae Nivlac Westerfield of Gilbertsville was arrested and charged with the following: Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Possess, Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense.
On August 24th a two vehicle injury crash occurred on US 641 near Draffenville. As a result of the investigation by Captain Matt Hilbrecht, one of the operators, David M. Jones of Smithland was cited for No or Expired Registration Plates, No or Expired Registration Receipt, and No Insurance. The other driver, Joshua T. Gunter of Grand Rivers was arrested and charged with Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License. The investigation is continuing and additional charges on Gunter are pending.
On August 26th, Deputy Barry Howell was contacted by Wesley M. Wilson of Gilbertsville. Mr. Wilson reports that his truck was vandalized while parked at Buckhorn Bay ramp. On August 26th, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to a Draffenville business in reference to an employee theft. As a result of the investigation Deputy Greenfield arrested James Russell Mingus of Benton and charged him with Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition Shoplifting U/$500.
On August 26th at 8:23am, Deputy Barry Howell served two Calloway County Bench Warrants on Amber L. Fralix of Benton. The warrant was issued for Failure to Appear.
On August 27th at 8:20am, Deputy Jason Ivey served an Indictment Warrant on Troy M. Long of Calvert City. The charges on the indictment were Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree Drug Unspecified, Prescription or Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container.
