Marshall County Sheriff’s Report March 27th, 2017

On March 25th at approximately 7:10pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to Hardin to observe for a possibly intoxicated driver. Deputy Greenfield observed the vehicle described in the area of Hilldale Apartments. The driver, Chelsea N. Doughty age 27 of Benton was arrested and charged with the following:
Operating Motor Vehicle U/Inflence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense, Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Poss, Poss of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, No Operators License and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On March 24th at approximately 5:35pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was in Draffenville and observed a vehicle being operated by a driver with a suspended operators license. Deputy Greenfield conducted a traffic stop and as a result of the ensuing investigation and field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested. Jesse Mullins age 34 of Benton was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 – 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Poss. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Suspect in custody after several armed robberies

Monday night at approximately 7:38pm Deputies were dispatched to the scene of two reported armed robberies in the Brewers community and a short time later to one in Aurora. A single suspect, Thomas Bell, III, 20 is believed to have committed these acts.

A short time later Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies, assisted by Calloway County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle in Hardin. A suspect, Thomas Bell, III, 20, has been taken into custody. No further information will be disseminated tonight as detectives are just now processing the scenes at both the robberies and of the traffic stop.

The following was released by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office:

The robberies occurred at Aurora One Stop, Brewers Grocery, and Brewers Liquors.
Shots were fired at two of the locations. No One Was Injured.
As a result of the investigation, Thomas Odell Bell III age 20 of Benton was charged with the following:

After the robberies, SGT. Eddie McGuire, Deputy Chris Greenfield, and two Calloway County Deputies found the vehicle in Hardin and conducted a traffic stop. . Deputies were able to take the suspect to an address on Charlie Miller Road where they recovered some evidence and other items.
During this time, the suspect broke away, ran, and struck a Deputy, resulting in the additional charges. Two Deputies had minor injuries from the incident.
Bell was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Additionally, Graves County Sheriff Dwayne Redmon has now charged Bell with 1st Degree Robbery in relation to the March 5th armed robbery of the West Mart on St. Rt. 58 East.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Report March 29th, 2017

On 3-27-17 at approximately 10:42pm, Deputy Josh Anderson responded to Fairview Street near Palma to serve a warrant on Ashley C. Ramey age 37 of Benton. During the time at the residence a quantity of what was identified as Oxycodone was found. The original warrant was for Theft By Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor warrant out of McCracken County. Ramey received an additional charge of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

On March 27th at approximately 4:51pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield observed Shannon Blasdel age 47 of Paducah weaving and crossing the centerline. During the stop Deputy Greenfield found a bag of approximately 15 pills of Tizanidine Hydrochloride. Blasdel was charged with Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug.

On 3-27-17 at approximately 5:45 pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to a restaurant in Draffenville due to an intoxicated person. It was reported that the subject refused to leave and was causing problems. Deputy Greenfield arrested Jeffery Mulvihill age 37 of Gilbertsville and charged him with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.Mulvihill was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

KSP Arrests Benton Man After Shots Fired

BENTON, KY (March 30, 2017) – On Thursday, March 30, 2017, at approximately 10:40
a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 1 received a call that shots had been fired at a
Department of Community Based Services worker in Marshall County. Preliminary
investigation has shown Alexia Pritchett, a DCBS worker, was conducting a home visit
on Abraham Road, when an adult male began firing shots from a long gun. Ms.
Pritchett was able to escape without injury.

Troopers responded to Abraham Road, where they located and arrested James E. Butler,
age 51, of Benton, Kentucky. Mr. Butler was charged with 1st Degree Wanton
Endangerment (Class D Felony) and was lodged at the Marshall County Jail.

The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff Department
and Benton Police Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Donald
Bowman. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1

Throughout the month, Troopers from the Mayfield Kentucky State Police Post
conducted traffic safety checkpoints in the Post 1 District. KSP utilizes traffic
safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists and to provide a deterrent for
those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide a highly visible, public
safety service focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate
registration and insurance of vehicles, and the valid licensing of drivers.
Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed.

Through April 1, 2017, preliminary results show there have been seventeen people
killed on the roadways in the Post 1 District: four victims were not wearing
seatbelts, two fatalities involved the suspected use of alcohol or drugs and two
pedestrians were struck and killed.

Kentucky State Police, Post 1, covers the 11 counties of Ballard, Calloway,
Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, and Trigg.
Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the
Kentucky State Police, toll-free, at 1-800-222-5555 Callers may remain anonymous and
should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel, and license
number if possible.

Citizens may also report tips anonymously through the KSP app. The app is available

On April 2nd Deputy Cory Curtner responded to Birmingham Point Golf Club House in reference to a burglary. His investigation revealed that someone had entered the building and vandalized it.

On April 4th Captain Brett Edwards and Deputy Steven Oakley responded to Karen Faye Lane in reference to a disturbance. After the investigation, Captain Edwards arrested Bradley D. Hall age 45 of Hardin and charged him with Assault 2nd Degree. This after the investigation revealed he had struck the victim with a baseball bat. Hall was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On April 4th at approximately 5:10am, Deputy Josh Anderson responded to a single vehicle crash on Kirksey Highway. As a result, Marvin Brown age 37 of Murray was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 Aggravating Circumstances 1st Offense. Brown was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On March 2 at 11:23pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to the area of the 47mm on Purchase Parkway in reference to a vehicle being driven at 25 mph and all over the road. Deputy Greenfield located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the ensuing investigation, Timothy Howe age 50 of Gilbertsville was arrested and charged with the following:
Operating Motor Vehicle U/ Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 2nd Offense
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Methamphetamine
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess
Howe was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On April 2nd at approximately 9:31pm, Sheriff Byars observed a vehicle pull into the parking lot of the Sheriff Office and a man get out of the drivers seat. Sheriff Byars was assisted by Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Josh Anderson. The officers observed a man identified as Austin Estes age 19 of Benton acting in an erratic manner. Estes was charged by Deputy Greenfield with the following:
Operating Motor Vehicle U/ Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense
Giving Officer False Name or Address
Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License
Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance Excludes Alcohol.
Estes was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center

On April 1st at approximately 1:15pm, Deputy Cory Curtner and Deputy William Strader responded to a disturbance on Oak Grove Church Road. As a result of the investigation, Deputy Curtner arrested and charged Jacob M. Thweatt age 27 of Benton with Assault 2nd Degree.

On March 31st at approximately 11:38pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a vehicle on US 68 West and upon running the plates discovered the driver had arrest warrants. Deputy Greenfield conducted a traffic stop. The driver, David A. Horn age 30 of Beaver Dam was served warrants of arrest from Meade and Lyon Counties. Further investigation resulted in Horn being charged with
Operating a Motor Vehicle U/ Influence ALC/Drugs/ Etc .08 – 1st Offense, When Horn was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center it was discovered that he had hidden a white powder substance believed to be a controlled substance. Horn received additional charges of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was lodged in Marshall County Detention Center. A female occupant in the vehicle, Rebecca J. Place-Yates age 39 of Eddyville was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance Excludes Alcohol. She was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. Deputy Greenfield was assisted by Deputy Josh Anderson.

Follow Up to Robbery Release March 27, 2017. On March 31st at 1003 am, Detective Jeff Daniel charged Thomas Odell Bell III with Receiving Stolen Property after it was discovered the weapon used in the robberies was stolen in Graves County. The investigation is continuing.

On April 3rd at approximately 8:59pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a vehicle on Purchase Parkway weaving in the lane and crossing the centerline. Deputy Greenfield conducted a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of the driver, Jessica L. Stamper age 28 of Calvert City. Charges include:

Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence ALC/ Drugs/ Etc .08 1st Offense, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Failure to Surrender Revoked Operators License, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, and Improper Equipment.

Stamper was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On March 28th at approximately 5:06pm, Deputy Dennis Lewis was dispatched to Hardin in reference to a possibly intoxicated driver. Further investigation resulted Deputy Lewis finding the suspect vehicle in a store parking lot in Hardin. The ensuing investigation resulted in Charles D. Angle age 20 of Benton being charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle U/ Influence ALC/ Drugs/ Etc .08 1st Off. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On March 29th at approximately 3:06pm, Deputies responded to a parking lot in Draffenville in reference to a disturbance. As a result, Cameron J. Hiemstra age 18 of Calvert City was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree and Criminal Littering. Kevin A. Hammer age 18 of Calvert City was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree. Both were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Rebecca J. Place, 39, of 100 Mulberry Street, Eddyville was arrested on April 01, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock for DUI 2nd offense.

Arianna Eichelberg, 20, of 302 Yearich, Argos, IN was charged on April 03, 2017 by Officer Robert Johnson with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kevin L. Story, 39, of 214 Pine Hill Lane, Lincoln, AL was arrested on April 06, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock for DUI 1st offense.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Report April 10th, 2017

Reminder – Marshall Co 2016 Property Tax Collection ends on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 4:30 pm. If you still owe your property tax that is the last day you can pay at the Sheriff’s Office. The taxes will then be turned over to the Marshall Co Clerk for payment with additional fees, penalties and interest. You can pay online at MARSHALLKYSHERIFF.ORG with a credit card it will charge you an addiitional 2.49% service fee until 4:00 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Office will be closing at noon on Friday, April 14, 2017 in observance of Good Friday.

On April 6th at 6:03pm, Deputies responded to Draffenville in reference to a reported possible intoxicated driver. SGT. Tim Reynolds and Detective Jeff Daniel were in the area on another case but located the vehicle / driver at the Dollar Store in Draffenville. SGT. Eddie McGuire arrived and as a result of his investigation, Mark S. Green age 56 of Benton was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc 2nd Offense. The investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of Percocet and Xanax. Green was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On April 5th Deputy Steven Oakley investigated a theft on Martin Creek Road in Hardin. Jesse Bennett of Hardin reported the theft of Chainsaws and Hedge Trimmers from his property. The investigation is continuing.

On April 6th at approximately 1:27am Marshall County Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an incident on US 68 West between Palma and Sharpe. The caller reported that a car crash had occurred and she had stopped to help when the driver in the crash produced a handgun and fired shots. The suspect got into the victims vehicle and demanded he be driven somewhere. The victim was out of the car and got into the vehicle with another witness. More shots were fired. SGT. Tim Reynolds and SGT. Jason Lane responded as did two Calvert City Officers, Officer Jeff Peck and Officer Josh Burkeen. The road was shut down as the suspect barricaded and refused to surrender in the vehicle. More shots were fired from the vehicle after officers arrival. Officers on scene requested that the Marshall County Special Response Team be dispatched to the scene. SRT is a tactical unit of officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Benton Police Department and specially trained paramedics from the Marshall County EMS. SRT responded and a negotiator with the team spent multiple hours attempting to diffuse the situation and get the man to surrender. This was unsuccessful. Eventually the SRT approached the vehicle and used less lethal munitions to bring the incident to a close. The man, identified as Gregory McCall age 64 of Benton, appeared to very intoxicated on an unknown substance. McCall was treated at the scene by SRT medics and then transported by EMS to Marshall County Hospital. During the continued investigation, a substance believed to be Methamphetamine was located in McCalls vehicle. a .40 caliber handgun was recovered from the vehicle that McCall barricaded in. Charges are pending by warrant as McCall continues to receive medical care. No other injuries were reported.The case remains under investigation by Detective Jeff Daniel. Many other officers assisted in the situation both at the scene and afterward.

On April 8th Deputy Luke Rudd and Deputy Chris Greenfield responded to Aurora in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival and investigation, Deputy Greenfield located a man identified as Brent Johnson age 31 of Aurora, laying in a field hiding from law enforcement. He was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.

Walker pleads not guilty to wanton endangerment charges

A Marshall County woman accused of firing a shotgun at ATV’s that were on her property in February has pleaded not guilty.

Bonita Walker, 56, of Salem Chapel Road, appeared in Marshall County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

On the afternoon of February 19th Deputy Chris Greenfield and Deputy Luke Rudd responded to Salem Chapel Road in reference to a report of shots fired at an ATV and someone being held at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, Deputies were taken to a field where the situation was ongoing. According to a citation filed by Deputy Greenfield, ATV riders were riding in an area with permission but had crossed onto adjoining property.

They were stopped by a woman identified as Walker who reports owning the property.

During the incident that ensued, Walker is alleged to have fired multiple rounds into ATVs while people were on them and had pointed a gun at the riders.

One round missed a rider by approximately 2 inches.

Walker was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

The next court date has not been scheduled.

Benton man arrested after allegedly forcing his way into home

Staff report

A Benton man is facing burglary charges after he allegedly forced his way into a home and threatened those inside.
According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports, deputies responded to a call at 5:06 a.m. Friday at a home on Tubbs Road in Marshall County. Upon arrival, police say two residents at the home reported a man had forced his way inside and threatened them with a knife. Deputies searched the area and allegedly found Derek J. Darnall, 30, of Benton in a nearby yard. He reportedly matched the description of the suspect.
Darnall was allegedly intoxicated and carrying a knife.
Darnall was arrested on suspicion of first degree burglary and alcohol intoxication. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Report April 17th, 2017

On April 14 at approximately 1:22am, Deputy Dan Melone conducted a traffic stop on Purchase Parkway of a vehicle traveling at approximately 90 miles per hour. After the ensuing investigation, Deputy Melone placed the driver, Aaron Russell Wilkinson age 43 of Murray, under arrest. The suspect was charged with DUI and with Speeding 90 in a 70mph zone.

On 4-16-2017 at approximately 9:39pm, Deputies Josh Anderson, Chris Greenfield and Luke Rudd were dispatched to a suspicious person walking in the road on US 641 south of Kentucky Dam. Prior to the Deputies arrival another call was received of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle. The ensuing investigation revealed that Teresa G. Gorham age 50 of Mayfield was northbound on US 641 when she reports that a man was walking in the middle of her lane. She did not see him due to his dark clothing and was unable to swerve and avoid impact due to oncoming traffic. Deputy Greenfield reports that he detected a strong smell of alcoholic beverages on the person of the man struck. The pedestrian was identified as Kenneth E. Pinnegar age 49 of Paducah. Pinnegar was transported by Marshall County EMS.

On April 14th, Deputy Luke Rudd was dispatched to a single vehicle crash at Waller Cemetery Road and Wadesboro Road North. According to a citation filed by Deputy Rudd, Garry O Gordon age 67 of Benton was traveling on Wadesboro Road North and went off of the road into a ditch. Deputy Rudd’s investigation resulted in the arrest of Gordon on the following charges:
Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence ALC/Drugs/ Etc .08 2nd Offense
Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle
Failure to Produce Insurance Card
Gordon was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On April 15th, Deputy Chris Greenfield was dispatched to the area of McDonalds in Draffenville in reference to a possibly intoxicated driver. Deputy Greenfield located the vehicle and conducted an investigation. As a result, the driver Crystal Gail Gregory, age 33 of Mayfield was arrested and charged with the following:
Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence ALC/Drugs/Etc .08 1st Offense
Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree
Receiving Stolen Property
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
Deputy Greenfield found a weapon in the suspects purse that was found to have been reported stolen in Paducah.
She was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

On April 16th at 6:25am, Deputy Josh Anderson was dispatched to Five Star in Draffenville in reference to an individual passed out in his vehicle. Deputy Anderson found the subject slumped over the wheel of the vehicle and he appeared to be intoxicated. The continued investigation resulted in the arrest of Jimmy Richard Hawkins Jr age 43 of Kuttawa. Deputy Josh Anderson found smoking pipes with what appeared to be methamphetamine, several baggies with residue, digital scales, and a sticker on the suspects license plate that was from a different vehicle. Hawkins was charged with the following:
Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine

Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate

Carl Edward Culbertson Jr., 35, of 2164 Jefferson Avenue, Evansville, IN was arrested on April 12, 2017 by Officer Jeff Peck on an out of state fugitive warrant.

Lorren Marion Weldy, 27, of 327 Windsor Drive, Calvert City was arrested on April 12, 2017 by Officer Mike Canon on a Marshall County warrant for theft by failure to make required disposition of property $500 <$10,000.

Tony K. Carls, 36, of 278 West 2nd Avenue, Calvert City was arrested on April 13, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock for public intoxication-controlled substances (excludes alcohol) and volatile substance abuse.

Kenneth E. Pinnegar, 49, of 1466 Beachold Road, Paducah was arrested on April 13, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

David Gordon Riggin, 27, of 714 Chestnut Street, Calvert City was charged with public intoxication-controlled substances (excludes alcohol) on April 16, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock.

Cadiz police officer struck by vehicle

Staff report

A school resource officer for the Cadiz Police Department was hospitalized on Monday after he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic.
According to Kentucky State Police reports, Officer David Colbert was directing traffic about 3:38 p.m. Monday on Main Street in front of Trigg County High School when George A. Hicks, 72, of Cadiz, hit Colbert in his 2004 Chevrolet van. Colbert was taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of injuries not deemed life-threatening.
Police believe heavy rain and decreased visibility were factors in the accident. No criminal charges were anticipated as of Monday night.
KSP was assisted on scene by Cadiz Police Department, Trigg County Sheriff
Department, Trigg County Rescue, and Trigg County Ambulance Service.

Alabama man arrested after making threats to officers

Deputies arrested an Alabama man Wednesday, after he allegedly called 911 and threatened officers.

Deputies responded about 1:11 a.m. Wednesday to a residence on Dogtown Road in reference to a disturbance. According to MCSD statements, an individual called 911 and told dispatchers he intended to kill someone, as well as any officers who responded to the incident.

Deputies arrested Brandon Rashad Kyle, 22, of Birmingham, Ala., and charged him with third degree terroristic threatening in connection to the incident.

He was housed in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Benton men charged in theft from vehicles

Three Benton men were arrested and charged after police say they were allegedly stealing from vehicles parked at a local hotel.

According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports, deputies responded on Wednesday to the Quality Inn in Draffenville in reference to a theft from two trucks at the hotel. Police located and arrested three men staying at the hotel – Samuel Brackett, 23, Hunter Snelling, 21, and Alex Evans, 20, all of Benton – on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking over $500. Tools and other items reported taken from the vehicles were recovered at the scene and returned to their owners, according to MCSD statements.

The suspects were housed in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Throughout the month, Troopers from the Mayfield Kentucky State Police Post
conducted traffic safety checkpoints in the Post 1 District. KSP utilizes traffic
safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists and to provide a deterrent for
those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide a highly visible, public
safety service focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate
registration and insurance of vehicles, and the valid licensing of drivers.
Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed.

Through April 1, 2017, preliminary results show there have been seventeen people
killed on the roadways in the Post 1 District: four victims were not wearing
seatbelts, two fatalities involved the suspected use of alcohol or drugs and two
pedestrians were struck and killed.

Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, and Trigg.
Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the

  • Stetson V. Snell, 19, of 1493 Benton Road, Paducah was arrested on April 20, 2017 by Officer Josh Burkeen for DUI 2nd offense. He was also charged with license to be in possession and disregarding a stop sign.
  •  Jarrod Kent Adamson, 30, of 523 Pride Pl. Apt. #13, Madisonville was arrested on April 20, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock on a Hopkins County warrant for failure to appear. He was also charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operators license and leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance.
  •  Colby Mason Lindsey, 19, of 586 Dr. Smith Lane, Calvert City was arrested on April 22, 2017 by Officer Robert Johnson for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree – drug unspecified, trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 oz.) 1st offense, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with speeding (74/55).
  •  Alexander Lee Evans, 20, of 1053 East 5th Avenue, Calvert City was arrested on April 22, 2017 by Officer Wes Babcock on a Marshall County warrant for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Laura Jean Thurman, 49, of Benton, was arrested and charged with DUI first offense and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. About 9:44 p.m., April 21, Deputy William Strader responded to U.S. 68 West in reference to a traffic crash. Investigation revealed that Thurman, identified as the driver, was allegedly under the influence.
  • Ashley A. Pyles, 31, of Paducah was arrested and charged with DUI and no operator’s license after Capt. Brett Edwards responded on April 24 to a traffic crash in Draffenville. According to the arrest citation, Pyles swerved into another vehicle. She was taken to Marshall County Detention Center.
  • Mark A. Folwell, 42, of Hardin was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault. Deputy William Strader responded about 6 a.m. April 24 to a residence in Hardin to speak to an assault victim. Folwell was taken to Marshall County Detention Center, upon further investigation.

Two arrested on drug, forgery charges

KUTTAWA — Troopers assigned to Kentucky State Police Post 1’s Interdiction Team stopped a vehicle about 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 24 on Interstate 24, near the 47 mile marker in Lyon County for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, troopers located heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and two types of prescription drugs. The passenger was also found to be in possession of a fake social security card.

The driver of the vehicle, Esteban Carmona-Hinojosa, 39, of Nashville, Tenn., was arrested and charged with careless driving, no operator’s license, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A passenger in the vehicle, Rey D. Guzman-Perez, 21, of Nashville, Tenn., was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree possession of a forged instrument.

Carmona-Hinojosa and Guzman-Perez were taken to the Caldwell County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper T. J. Williams.
