Authorities in Marshall County are warning residents about another scam.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, someone is calling residents and identifying themselves as an officer for the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. The caller ID even shows the sheriff department’s phone number and reads “Marshall County Sheriff.”
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents that it does not make calls for the IRS or any sort of debt collection agency. If you receive such a call, please report it to the Attorney General’s Office, Kentucky State Police, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, or your local law enforcement agency.
