On November 5th at approximately 1:07am, Deputy Josh Anderson was dispatched to the area of the 2100 block of Olive Creek Road in reference to someone screaming. Deputy Anderson made contact with Jimmy Nelson who reported having an altercation with Devon G. Collins, who had left the residence. Deputy Anderson found Collins laying in the yard and manifestly under the influence of alcohol. Collins was charged with Alcohol Intoxication and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On November 5th at 7:47pm, Deputy Luke Rudd was dispatched to a restaurant in Draffenville. The theft of a I Phone 6 was reported. The phone was found in the grass behind the business. A review of the video from the business revealed who had taken it there. As a result of the investigation, Kaitlynn N. Johnston age 18 of Calvert City was arrested and charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 But Under $10,000.
On November 6th at 12:30am, Deputy Josh Anderson and Sergeant Jason Lane were dispatched to Moors Camp Highway in reference to a traffic crash. Upon Deputy Anderson’s arrival, he discovered a man sitting beside his crashed vehicle. Deputy Anderson could detect an odor of alcoholic beverages and the man had slurred speech. Beer was found in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Aaron L. Griggs age 36 of Gilbertsville was arrested and charged with DUI 1st Offense. While officers were on the scene, a vehicle drove up with the wife of Griggs in it, looking for her husband. Investigation by Sergeant Lane determined that she also was intoxicated. Cherith A. Griggs age 36 of Gilbertsville was also arrested and charged with DUI 1st Offense. Both were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On November 5th, Deputy Chris Greenfield served a warrant charging Cody T. Driver age 31 of Benton with DUI. According to affidavit, the warrant stems from an investigation by Deputy Luke Rudd into a traffic crash on October 26th. His investigation revealed that Driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Driver was transported to Marshall County Hospital due to his injuries which is why the warrant was obtained.
On November 5th at approximately 7:00pm, Deputy Chris Greenfield and Sergeant Eddie McGuire investigated a crash on US 641 North. As a result of the investigation, Deputy Greenfield arrested Patricia F. Matheny age 58 of Benton and charged her with DUI, Poss Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Prescription / Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, and Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle. Matheny was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
