On April 17th at approximately 3:05am, Deputy Josh Anderson was dispatched to Hilldale Lane in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival it was reported to him that a man identified as Richard L. Coleman Jr. had taken his girlfriends car and had been drinking for several hours. It was reported to Deputy Anderson that Coleman had also threatened to harm the girlfriend. Deputy Anderson observed in the area for the white Ford being driven by Coleman and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. As a result of the following investigation, Deputy Anderson arrested Coleman and charged him with DUI,
On April 17th at approximately 3:38pm, Deputy William Strader arrived in the 10000 block of US 62 in reference to an investigation unrelated to this arrest. Deputy Strader observed a black BMW sedan sitting in the driveway running which had an open alcoholic beverage sitting on the console. The driver, Dale W. Jenkins age 46 of Calvert City, admitted to driving the vehicle and stated that he had pulled in to speak to someone at the home. Jenkins failed field sobriety tests and admitted drinking six beers. Jenkins was charged with DUI, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle, and License to be in Possession. He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On April 18th at approximately 4:39 am, Deputy Jason Lane responded to a report of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on I-24. Deputy Lane found a vehicle traveling east in the west bound lane of I-24. When Deputy Lane conducted the traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into the median. Deputy Lane observed a strong smell of alcoholic beverages. The driver, identified as Cherrie D. Jensen age 48 of Eastman, Georgia was arrested and charged with DUI and Display or Possession of Cancelled or Fictitious Operators License as she was in possession of 1 Wisconsin license, 1 GA license, and 3 WI ID cards with false information. Jensen was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
A busy week for Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies saw officers responding to 341 incidents. According to Marshall County Central Dispatch, Deputies responded to 18 traffic crashes, including 9 with injuries. Deputies attempted service on 27 warrants or criminal summonses and 29 civil process. Deputies conducted 47 extra patrols, responded to 4 animal incidents and 15 thefts/ burglaries. Deputies also responded to 12 complaints, 11 fights / disturbances, 3 motorist assists, and 14 suspicious persons or vehicles. There were 29 traffic stops.
