On June 20th, Deputy Steven Oakley served an indictment warrant. Shel Greg McKendree of Hardin was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine, Operating a Motor Vehicle U/ Influence Alc/Drugs/Etc .08 Aggravating Circumstance 1st Offense, Drug Paraphernalia Buy / Possess, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, No Registration Plates, No Registration recept, Improper Start From Parked Position, and Failure to Wear Seatbelt.

2018 Scott Lathram Memorial Golf Tournament

The 2018 Scott Lathram Memorial Golf Tournament will be Thursday, September 6th at Miller Memorial Golf Course, located in Murray, KY. This event is KSP Post 1’s fundraiser for Trooper Island. Each summer, 700-800 underprivileged children attend the free summer camp, which is operated solely from private donations.

We expect to have over 100 participants at this year’s event. With your help, this could be our biggest year ever.  There are a number of ways you can lend your support to this worthy cause.

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an individual for felony theft charges. Robert Kenny Lima is wanted for the charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $10,000. Lima is a white male, 6’ l”, 180lbs, brown hair, brown eyes. Phillip C. Williams, 26, of 349 East 3rd Avenue, Calvert City was arrested on June 18, 2018 on a Marshall County Warrant for theft by unlawful taking of a controlled substance under $10,000 and assault 4th degree (minor
injury).

Jessica Stamper, 29, of 3645 Gilbertsville Highway, Calvert City was arrested on June 19, 2018 on a Marshall County Warrant for probation violation (for felony offense). She was also served two Marshall County Warrants for failure to appear.

Adam C. Hungate, 24, of 4717 Oak Level Road, Benton was arrested on June 19, 2018 on a Marshall County Indictment Warrant for trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (> or = 2 gms methamphetamine)
and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with trafficking in a misrepresented controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia (x2), possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a
convicted felon (x2), no brake lights (passenger vehicles), failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, and operating on a suspended or revoked operators license.

Cara Lampley, 25, of 346 East 2nd Avenue, Calvert City was arrested on June 21, 2018 on a Ballard County Warrant for criminal mischief 1st degree.

If anyone has seen or heard from this gentleman please give us a call at 270-527-3112. Mr Green has red hair and green eyes. He is a 26 year old white male and is 5’10 180lbs

On June 25th, Deputy JT Coleman arrested Marco Rosales of Benton, serving a bench warrant for Failure to Appear.

On June 26th, Deputy Barry Howell served a Bond Revocation on Timothy Kirks of Murray. The revocation was on a Marshall Circuit Court case.

On June 26th at 9:18pm, Deputy Cory Curtner served an arrest warrant on Michael K. Creech of Paducah. Creech was located on Sandstone Street in Gilbertsville. The warrant was on charges of Failure to Appear and Probation Violation.

On June 26th, Deputy Barry Howell responded to a Fairdealing business in reference to a possibly intoxicated person. Upon arrival, Deputy Howell took Sylvia A. Cox age 38 of Benton into custody. Cox was charged with Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance Excludes Alcohol and Promoting Contraband 1st Degree.

On June 26th, Sergeant Jason Lane and Deputy Cory Curtner responded to Vanzora Road to serve a warrant on Nathan Eddie Ham. The discovered Ham in the area driving a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.They arrested him on the indictment warrant issued by Marshall Circuit Court on charges of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree Victim U12 Years of Age and Persistent Felony Offender. Search incident to arrest, they discovered items which resulted in the additional charges of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess.

On June 27th, Sheriff Kevin Byars served a Marshall Circuit Bench Warrant on Tammy Whittington of Calvert City.

On June 27th, Sheriff Kevin Byars served a McCracken County Bench Warrant on Casey Fletcher of Gilbertsville. The original charges were for No Registration Plates, No registration Receipt, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance.

On June 27th, Sheriff Kevin Byars served an arrest warrant on Adam Skinner of Calvert City. The original charges were for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Prescription / Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, Receiving Stolen Property ( Firearm )

 

KSP Post 1, 2018 July 4th Holiday Enforcement

(Hickory, Ky.) The Kentucky State Police Post 1-Mayfield wants to remind motorists to celebrate this Fourth of July responsibly.

The Kentucky State Police will be stepping up patrols to ensure the safety of the motoring public. Troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers will be patrolling all roads and saturating known problematic areas in each of the eleven counties of the Post 1 District.

The motoring public should expect to see more troopers and officers on the roads as well as encountering various traffic safety checkpoints. With the 4th of July falling in the middle of the week, an enhanced amount of traffic safety road checks will be conducted starting this weekend and continuing through next weekend.

KSP utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for a high visibility, public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration/insurance of vehicles and the valid licensing of drivers. Other violations of law and/or other public safety issues that arise will be addressed.

These checkpoints will allow the Kentucky State Police the opportunity to periodically concentrate its efforts in checking for violations of Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws that will ultimately increase the safety of the citizens within the Commonwealth.

Paducah Police Department Need Help Finding Missing Juvenile

Seventeen year old Jacob Feltner was last seen at Backyard Burger, 3526 James Sanders Blvd, Paducah around noon on Friday, June 29th. Jacob is 5’9″ and weighs 190 lbs.  He has brown hair above the ears and hazel color eyes. He also has a mustache and a tattoo of roses on his arm. Derek Anthony Britt, 33, of 1001 Birch Street, Apt. #1, Benton was arrested on July 01, 2018 for DUI 2nd offense.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints throughout the Post 1 district, to check motorists for compliance with motor vehicle laws including driving under the influence statutes. KSP utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists using the public roadways and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

The intent of a traffic safety checkpoint is to provide for a high visibility, public safety service, focusing on vehicular equipment deficiencies, confirming appropriate registration and insurance of vehicles, and the valid licensing of drivers. Violations of law or other public safety issues that arise shall be addressed.

Traffic safety checkpoints will allow the Kentucky State Police the opportunity to periodically concentrate its efforts in checking for violations of Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws that will ultimately increase the safety of the citizens within the Commonwealth. Drivers encountering a traffic safety checkpoint are requested to have their operator’s license, vehicle registration receipt and proof of insurance readily accessible. Drivers with this information in hand, those with no violations of law and minimal roadway congestion can reasonably expect to be delayed for no more than 30 seconds to a few minutes.

Through July 3, 2018, preliminary results show there have been fifteen people killed on the roadways in the Post 1 District. Of the fifteen two fatalities were motorcycles and four were not wearing a seatbelt.

Kentucky State Police, Post 1, covers the 11 counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, and Trigg. On Monday July 2, 2018 Sgt. Treadway responded to Walmart on a report that a male had pushed a shopping cart of merchandise out of the store without paying. When he arrived, Walmart employees said that the male left the cart behind the Dollar Tree and believed he may have ran off into the field. Sgt. Treadway checked some of the other businesses close by and was unable to locate the male. Sgt. Treadway has been training a a visual tracker through the Government Tracker Institute and spoorology Research and used some of those skills to determine that no one had recently been in the fields behind the Dollar Tree in that area. Shortly after, a citizen gave a the description of the male they were looking for and said he was inside the Dollar Tree. Sgt. Treadway and Chief Deputy Maddox located the male in the back stock room of the store. The male tried to run then began to resist upon contact. After a brief struggle, he was detained. Matthew J. Rogers ( Paducah) told officers that he absconded from parole and that was why he ran and fought. Mr. Rogers had 2 verified warrants, one for contempt of court for failing to report to jail and a parole violation warrant for absconding from parole. He was additionally charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500- Shoplifting. He was transported to the Marshall County jail. Several Deputies from the sheriff’s Department assisted.

On July 7th, Deputies Nick Spears and Lofton Rowley were dispatched to Northbound Purchase Parkway in reference to two people walking in the roadway and almost being hit. Deputies found them walking near I-24 and their vehicle a short distance away. As a result of the investigation, Deputy Spears arrested Cory J. Patton of Grantsburg, Illinois and Carla Marten of Vienna, Illinois on the following charges:

Vehicle strikes cyclists in Calloway County

On July 9, 2018 at 4:00pm the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center received a call reporting a vehicle accident with injuries on Airport Rd. near Tucker Rd. in North West Calloway County. Tabytha Reed, 19 of Benton, was traveling north on Airport Rd. when she approached two bicyclists also travelling north. Reed’s vehicle struck a bicycle being ridden by Molly Collins, 51 of Murray. Collins’ bicycle was then pushed into a second bicycle being ridden by Gary Collins, 58 of Murray. Molly Collins was transported to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital ER by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Gary Collins sustained non life threatening injuries and chose to be transported to the ER by private vehicle. Tabytha Reed was uninjured in the accident. The accident investigation is being conducted by Deputy Brandon Gallimore. He was assisted at the scene by Murray-Calloway County EMS and Calloway County Fire-Rescue.

KSP arrests Paducah Man on Criminal Abuse 1st degree

Paducah, KY (July 9 2018)- The Kentucky State Police and the Department for Community Based Services began a joint investigation into an alleged child abuse complaint.  After a week long investigation and consultation with medical experts KSP arrested David G. Minks, 29 of Paducah, KY., and charged him with one count of Criminal Abuse 1st Degree, child under 12 years of age, which is a Class “C” Felony.   Minks was arrested without incident on July 9, 2018 and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

UPDATE: KSP working Death Investigations in Livingston County

Hickory, KY (July 11, 2018)- Preliminary results of the autopsy conducted today on Deborah A. Burnette indicates she died as a result of a brain aneurism.  Preliminary results from the autopsy conducted today on Terry S. Burnette indicates he died from a weak heart, as a result of his medical issues. No signs of foul play and is not suspected in their deaths.  The autopsies were conducted at the State Medical Examiner’s office in Louisville, KY. The death investigations are being conducted by KSP Detective Cory Hamby

KSP working Death Investigations in Livingston County

Burna, KY (July 10, 2018)- The Kentucky State Police received a call from the Livingston County Sheriff about two people dead at a residence on US Highway 60 E.at approximately 4:04 P.M.  Terry S. Burnette, 57 of Burna, KY was found deceased in the front yard, Deborah A. Burnette, 56 of Burna, KY was found deceased in her bedroom.  Both individuals had various medical issues.  An autopsy will be scheduled for both at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville tomorrow. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Benton Police ask for public assistance in indentifications

Benton Police need your help in identifying the two males in the pictures. On July 4th around 8PM the two rode into the parking lot of the library on motorcycle’s. Subsequently one of the bikes caught on fire and was abandoned. We realize these pictures are not crystal clear but believe someone will know who they are based upon clothing and the bikes. Black helmet with an orange(or red) mohawk, tatoo on right side calf , black and orange shoes. There are no charges at this time as the fire seems to be accidental based upon video. Officer Moore needs to speak with both subjects to complete his investigation.

Sandra J. Spithaler, 62, of 261 Sir Charles Court, Calvert City was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons on July 03, 2018 for terroristic threatening 3rd degree.

Michael L. Martin, 45, of 189 Yaught Drive, Gilbertsville was arrested on July 04, 2018 for operating on a suspended or revoked operators license. He was also charged with failure to produce insurance card and license to be in possession.

Gregory A. Sutton, 48, of 968 Jackson School Road, Benton was arrested on July 04, 2018 on a Marshall County Warrant for failure to appear. He was also charged with giving an officer false identifying information.
